The Team:
A group of unlikely cyclists...
Riders:
Rhiannon Britton
What made you decide to take on this challenge?
The physical challenge is really appealing. It will be the hardest thing I've ever attempted especially as I have only just started riding a road bike! It will be a great team to be a part of and cycling for such worthy causes will definately keep me motivated.
What is your role in the team?
Food!! I am a registered dietitian and sports nutritionist. I'll be making sure everyone has enough fuel in the tank and keeps hydrated throughout so we can perform to the best of our abilities.
What bike are you riding?
A Chris Boardman Fi Comp Road/Hybrid. It has a good spec apparently - all I know is it's light (so good for hills) and it's very pretty!
What are you most and least looking forward to on the ride?
The bit in Scotland!! I cant wait to see the scenery and ride among the mountains but they have hills up there that are gonna hurt!
One fact about yourself you think your team mates should know:
I come from a family of really good cyclists. My nan has been giving me riding tips! Who knows with all this training I may be one to watch out for -but I've also heard these things can skip generations and I fear I may prove to have missed out on that gene pool.

What made you decide to take on this challenge?
I've always loved a good challenge, and what could be a bigger one than cycling the length of the country having not spent anytime on a road bike and to be honest not having much luck with bikes in past! However a bigger influence on me wanting to take part was being able to help a charity that I feel really strongly about and show support for one of their patrons who sadly is no longer with us.
What is your role in the team?
Who knows yet, but hopefully team motivator and front runner in the wearing of lycra!
What bike are you riding?
A ridgeback
What are you most and least looking forward to on the ride?
Really looking forward to the journey with mates and to be doing such an epic challenge. Least looking forward to chaffing and a sore arse!
One fact about yourself you think your team mates should know:
To be honest they know me so well already and there isn't much they haven't seen anyway!

Providing a highly visible backmarker(!) and using my vast technical knowledge to keep the team on the road.
What bike are you riding?
Dawes Sportif
What are you most and least looking forward to on the ride?
Seeing the country especially the lakes and highlands and of course spending two weeks in Lycra!

What made you decide to take on this challenge?
I thought it was time to for a challenge and decided an end to end cycle ride would be a good test of mental and physical endurance. I was inspired to do this by Hannah's determination to take on personal challenges in order to support LAFF and other causes she believed in.
What is your role in the team?
Initially my role consisted of persuading the others to take part and convincing them that all day in the saddle, with a rewarding evening in a tent would be a good way to spend two weeks in August! I'm now focusing on organising the challenge to ensure that we get from one end of the country to the other, with as much money in the bank for our charities as possible.
What bike are you riding?
The work horse of the fleet - it's a Ridgeback World Voyage.
What are you most and least looking forward to on the ride?
Travelling through the West of Scotland will be the main highlight. A definite concern is Dan's Lycra Antics!
